Game Changing Logistics Technology

Technology is always advancing, which means that logistics technology is also always changing. However, there are three particular advances that will surely prove to significantly alter logistics technology as we know it. Analytics software, mobile computing, and social media are being widely used, and logistics technologies need to make sure that they are staying up to date.
Analytics Software
One of the hugely beneficial logistics technologies is analytics software. This type of software allows you to analyze mountains of data and find patterns, errors, and associations. It may pick up on things that the typical human would not pick up on, and it will definitely crunch the numbers faster. This is a huge benefit to any company! Now companies need to realize how much of an asset analytics software can be. Then you need to accurately record the data, use the software, and then make changes based on the results. You can even use analytics software to track trends in your market and make educated guesses at the future.
Mobile Computing
Other game changing logistics technology includes the widespread use of mobile computing whether it is smart phones or tablets. These mobile computing devices allow anyone immediate access to endless amounts of information. You can have entire warehouse stock at your finger tips. You can track your shipment in real time. You can communicate easily and quickly with customers and logistics services. These logistics technologies could save a lot of time and effort when used the right way for your company.
Social Media
The third up and coming logistics technology? Social media. It is not just for celebrities and teens. There are many professional uses for the various outlets of social media such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and so forth. Many companies use these outlets to find new employees, answer customer service questions, give relevant news updates, and take surveys. Many people are sharing their opinions, likes and dislikes, and habits on these social media hubs so take advantage of the resource and gather data from this free information. Also, reach out to those customers to let them know that you are there and willing to help.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Trade compliance is one of the last segments in business to take advantage of automation and data mining. Too often companies have the attitude of putting out compliance fires when they happen instead of using data to reduce risk and save money.
